You are invited to the AWLC’s premier annual fundraiser...
Noche de Musica y Arte XV
The glamorous Noche de Música y Arte (NdMyA) of 2018 will be held on October 13 at Colegio Franklin D. Roosevelt's Performing Arts Center. As champagne and wine circle the room, guests will be free to browse the art exhibition curated by the AWLC’s Diana Riesco-Lind, an accomplished artist herself. Art from any of the over 50 artists featured may be purchased on the spot, and in some cases, the artists themselves may even be in attendance.
The exhibition, which is among the largest in Peru, will be accompanied by live harp music performed by Colegio Roosevelt’s own Pierina Constantini. Ms. Constantini, a graduate of the esteemed National Conservatory of Music, debuted in 2007 as a soloist in the National Symphony Orchestra.
When the time for the concert arrives, guests will be ushered into the Center's beautiful theater, where the enchanting and multilingual Pierina Less will perform. In 2007, shortly after Ms. Less released her first solo album, MTV’s “Top 10 most requested” program requested a clip to feature that same year. Her career since has spanned multiple corporate events, including CADE 2003, Creatividad Empresarial 2005, and International Tourism Day 2008, as well as many events for important Peruvian and international bands.
Ms. Less' program for our special evening will feature timeless songs from five different countries expressed in her own unique, sultry style, of course with support from her own impressive band of musicians.
Guests will emerge from the concert to elegant spreads of light sweet and savory refreshments provided by our generous sponsors. Guests can then enjoy one last opportunity to browse the exhibition as drinks circle. At the end of the evening, art that has been purchased may be collected.
The NdMyA, now in its 15th year, is the AWLC’s premier annual fundraiser. Last year’s NdMyA, which had opera as its musical theme, also featured art from 50 artists as well as a performance by the lauded Peruvian tenor John Schöfield.
We hope you'll join us for a magical evening that ultimately aims to support education in Peru.
