PAST SPEAKERS

“PERU VS. CHILE CASE ON MARITIME DELIMITATION..."

We were honored to have His Excellency Ambassador Jose Antonio Garcia Belaúnde, enlighten us with this interesting case.   He took us back into history, treatises and the fascinating world of diplomacy and law. We walked away feeling very proud to have such a brilliant team of people representing us.

"PAIS COMBI"

We welcomed entrepreneur and author, Pedro Morillas,  to talk about his recent and very successful book on Peru, “Pais Combi”.

The calm and extremely interesting presentation given to us by Mr. Morillas gave rise to many questions and ended in a positive note.

"DRUGS:  A REAL THREAT THAT INVOLVES ALL OF US"

We were privileged to welcome Carmen Masias Claux, Cedro's Development Director; and, Past President of DEVIDA.

Carmen gave a fascinating presentation on the huge power and ruthlessness of cartels, the impact of addiction on users and families, among other topics.

"FIGHTING POVERTY TO CONTROL TUBERCULOSIS"

We were privileged to have Dr. Carlton Evans, an experienced researcher and clinician in the United States, England and Peru, as our guest speaker.

Dr. Evans’ talk was very lively and informative. TB is still a serious problem in Peru, but research and good treatment with efficient follow up means progress is being made.

Thank you Dr. Evans!

"FREEDOM OF THE PRESS"

We had a wonderful time with Sol Carreño, Channel 4 TV anchorwoman, who shared the theory behind "Freedom on the Press" and spoke to us on current events related to this subject and answered all our questions.  Thank you Sol¡  We loved having you.

"THE FUTURE OF SOUTH AMERICA"

In September we were privileged and delighted to hear our guest speaker, the respected Dr. Francisco Tudela, ex Peruvian Foreign Minister and Consul to the United Nations, speak to us about this interesting topic, as we enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Country Club.

"THE POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF MINING IN PERU"

We started the Speaker Luncheon Series in 2013, with a talk on the impact of mining in Peru.

We were honored to have Patricia Kent, Corporate Vice President Corporate of IRLS Mines, as the key-note speaker.  The talk was followed with a delicious meal and a generous question and answer section. Thank you Patricia¡
